Apple iPhone 3G - 7.21.2008

If this page is dedicated to items which benefits my life in one way or another, there has never been a more deserving item then the iphone. I originally passed on the iphone due to its lack of 3G amongst other features, but the new one includes not only 3G but GPS as well. I’ve never felt that a phone could replace a laptop, but this one comes incredibly close. If the battery lasted longer I would no longer need to lug my macbook around.
Negative Gravity - 7.07.2008

200g (230g w/yellow king swiss stop pads) and titanium, what more could you want? It’s lightweight, looks good, and fresh from Ted Ciamillo, the man who originally brought us the Zero Gravity Ti calipers. After some serious research I ended up picking up the new Negative Gravity Ti over the KCNC alloy calipers. We’ll see how these work out in a week or two, but here they are fresh out of their box.
Tailoring - 4.22.2008

This doesn’t exactly make life easier, in fact it complicates things…maybe more of an frivolous item, but never less it makes my life easier. A person’s clothes is an extension of who they are, and I prefer mine not only properly fitted but have details that make me smile. One of these details is contrasting fabrics in my dress shirts, usually inside the cuff, behind the shoulders and the lining behind the buttons. In some rare occasions the collar, and the cuff split as well.
The top shirt is from English Laundry, and the one below Ted Baker.

CarbonLord.com - 4.22.2008

I have to give it to Sabin West of CarbonLord Cycling Components for making my life a helluva lot easier. Providing everything from Carbon Fiber road bars, to Carbon Fiber Cranks, to Carbon (you get the picture) stems and this fresh new Castelli Jersey. Sabin’s a class act, and will definitely seek him out for my cycling needs.
Can’t wait to wrap up my two current builds.

Powell’s Sweet Shoppe - 3.23.2008

I love Powell’s Sweet Shoppe. Imagine every sugary confection ever made under in one roof, all in the sweet downtown that is Los Gatos.
Moo Cards - 3.13.2008

Now these things are cool. I’ve been trying to work out letterpress cards through one heart press up in the city, but going up there and cleaning up the proofs is more a pita then anything. In the mean time I upgraded my flickr account to pro, and received 10 Moo cards as a gift.

These things are cool. Nice printing on nice matted cardstock. Better then your standard business card stock (oh how I hate standard cards), and even comes in its own nifty dispenser. Sweet. Ordering these in bulk now.
Puma - 3.01.2008

As of late I’ve become a bit of an Puma whore. These don’t do anything particularly well, and I’ll be frank - they are not exactly all that comfortable either, at least the ones I do like but they’ve become a sort of fashion icon, a fixation and a trend that I gleefully support.

My fresh pair of Puma Sprints in red suede. Sweet.
Kopiko - 2.24.2008

I grew up on these Kopiko things, my mother used to give me one every so often. I actually forgotten about this candy through my high school, college, and young professional years, it wasn’t until I saw them at the local It’s A Grind that I had another. I now have a giant jar of these things, you know…right next to my Haribo gold bears.
Paper Source - 2.24.2008

As big of a fan I was of Crane & Co, I just am not able to source a reliable supply locally. JAX where I usually pick it up is finicky about their stock and seem to always sell out the day before I actually run out. With a bit of frustration, and Valentine’s shopping at Paper Source a gal asked, “Have you seen our line of card stock and envelopes?” To which I obviously replied, “No.” What she showed me next was eye-opening. A wall stocked full of cards, envelopes, stock, in a plethora of colors. I just found my new note supplier. They cost a bit less, better thought out, and in my opinion a superior product - at the end of the day this is what counts.
Ariel Laundry Detergent - 2.07.2008

So out of all the wonderful things I could be doing in London, I’m doing laundry. However, Crystal introduced me to these little pre-measured packets of laundry detergent by Ariel.

They’re awesome. You just toss one in along with your laundry and as Ronco would say, “Set it, and forget it.” No spill, no measuring, no mess and overall less waste. I swear I saw something like this the last time I was buying bleach, or fabric softener but I forgot who made it, maybe Method?
Coco Bon Jelly Beans - 1.30.2008

Why settle for your ordinary jelly beans when an exotic species exists. I stumbled upon these Coco Bon Mojito Jelly Beans while at JAX trying to refill my Crane card stock. If anything they’ve been a great ice breaker, and totally irresistible.
Paul Smith Cuff Links - 1.28.2008

It’s not hot-off-the-press that I prefer British cuts & tailoring, nor that I’m a huge Paul Smith fan so this should come as no surprise. Cuff links just add a dimension and almost a level of sophistication that your normal button cuff dress shirt lacks.

So although they don’t go with many of my shirts, these are my current favorite pair. Woof!
Dunny Vinyl Figures - 1.27.2008

This blog wouldn’t be complete without some sort of nonsensical item would it? Dunny’s are something one gets, or just strives to understand. Frankly, I’m still trying to understand the fascination, as I still don’t get them - however I know I have some weird fetish for them and with that being said, they’re alright. Get Dunny’d today at a Kid Robot near you!
Kesington World Outlet Adaptor - 1.27.2008

I hate it when I lose things, especially ‘nice’ things. It’s been a year or two since I last used my Tumi plug adaptor and now that I realized I needed it I couldn’t find it. Instead of buying another one, as they aren’t exactly budget friendly I decided to check out what else was out there, while in the Apple Store I found Kesington’s version.

Although not exactly better it’s the exact same item, but instead of the nifty travel bag you get a USB adapter which comes in handy if you have electronics that you’re able to charge via USB cables. The best part? It’s $30.
Green Zebra Coupon Books - 1.27.2008

I stumbled upon Green Zebra through a real estate expo in San Francisco, they happened to occupy the booth next to us and while it was slow in between seminars we chatted it up. Before I knew it she sold me on a book; however this book is packed with savings - notable discounts include Nieman Beef, One Market, Out The Door, Coffee To The People and of course Sports Basement. I already got my $10 or whatever I paid for it back. They have a book for San Francisco, Marin, and the Peninsula with London and other metropolises in the works.
